Social Media and Public Relations

Digital media is revolutionizing the way brands communicate and without a doubt it is creating an easier way for business to connect with their audience. The line between the two forms of communication is getting blurred.  Social media plays a pivotal role in the field of PR. Communication has reached new heights by the overlapping of the credible source i.e PR and the most impactful source i.e social media.

Every organization needs a social media presence not only to build a brand image but also create successful sales. Social Media provides the required reach to an organization, targeting its audience digitally and influencing decisions and perceptions.

Using social media ensures that the brand’s message is moving and creating the desired brand awareness and exposure. With Social media the lines between public relations and marketing have blurred. Social media provides the brands opportunity to interact with their customers on a personal level. It has become a powerful medium of communication to reach out to the target audience and deliver the desired message, build a brand’s image and maintain a harmonious consumer- organization relationship. It also helps in connecting with key influencers.

All this gives PR Professionals the power to manage the communication in a more effective and impactful way than ever before. Thus, social media indeed has created and led to the rise of the new PR.
