The New Facebook, Insta and Twitter

Changes in social media tools are very constant today. Recently, Facebook has introduced many new tools. Other social media platforms like Instagram and Twitter too have introduced few changes and have upgraded themselves. Being in public relations industry, a PR Professional very well understands the use and importance of these social media tools and therefore, it is very important for him/her to be updated with the present changes. Here are few of the important changes:

FACEBOOK

·         According to recent reports by Facebook, its users are watching 100 million hours of videos daily. Due to this, Facebook is now rolling out live video broadcasting for all its users.
·         Facebook has recently revamped its ‘like’ button and introduced new emoticons for its users to express love/anger/laugh for a post/photograph/video.

INSTAGRAM

  •  Now, Instagram users can add up to five accounts without the need of logging in and logging out again.
  • Recently, Instagram also introduced a new video metric by which users can keep a check on how many times their videos are shared on their app. A user watching any video for 3 seconds accounts for one view.

TWITTER

  • Twitter has recently changed its old timeline into an algorithm based one which implies that now popular tweets appear on the top as compared to recent tweets.
  • Breaking its old formula of sticking to 140 characters may soon increase as Twitter has recently given hints that it may increase it to around 1000 letters.
