Tips for an effective PR Survey
It is a part of PR professionals’
job to conduct PR surveys every now and again either for an event or any story
they pitch for their client.
A PR survey refers to conducting
research on your target audience and there are certain tips that can be
followed to help create an effective poll.
1) Keep short questions
It is easier for audience
to reply to short and simple questions that concentrate on main objectives
rather than longer ones that consume more time.
2) Opt for closed questions
Closed questions generate
good results for reports based on percentages and mean scores. Open questions
are generally of limited use for the media content.
3) Credible stories
The story should have a
clear aim and meaning to convey something important and useful to the target
audience. There is no use of an unrealistic survey.
4) Sample size
Professionals working in
PR firms should decide the sample size according to the target group whether it
should be in hundreds, thousands or more.
5) Give option for sharing views
Apart from asking direct
questions, leave space for sharing the audience’s personal views too, in the
end.
